Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Mamallapuram for an informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, began Saturday morning with a special message regarding Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

The Prime Minister was seen plogging at a beach this morning for over 30 minutes. He also called on people to "ensure our public places are clean and tidy."
Clad in a black kurta-pajama, Modi was seen with a large plastic bag in hand during his early morning walk as he picked plastic litter and water bottles strewn on the sands.
"Plogging at a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. Also handed over my 'collection' to Jeyaraj, who is a part of the hotel staff. Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy! Let us also ensure we remain fit and healthy,"
Modi Tweeted: “Plogging is an exercise that combines jogging with picking up litter. Last month, the PM had urged the people to participate in two-km-long runs to promote plogging across the country starting October 2. For the uninitiated, plogging is derived from the word jogging and it involves participants picking up litter as they jog”.
